𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐨𝐄) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬

From December 9-13, 2024, CBMP – Capacity Building and Mentorship Program in Ethiopia Universities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and HABTech Solutions, organized a workshop to develop Center of Excellence (CoE) and Demonstration Woreda guidelines. This initiative is a significant step toward strengthening Ethiopia’s health information systems.
CBMP universities have been at the forefront of efforts to strengthen the health system by generating evidence on priority digital systems through Center of Excellences (University of Gondar has been working on DHIS2 and interoperability CoE, Jimma University on eCHIS and Haramaya University on EMR, Addis Ababa University on Data Analytics). The universities involvement in this workshop ensured the guidelines align with ongoing work to enhance local evidence generation, creating model woredas and achieve sustainable health system improvements.
These guidelines are set to serve as a foundation for integrating evidence-based practices into Ethiopia’s health sector, further supporting CBMP’s commitment to enhancing the digital health and health information systems nationwide.
