
𝗖𝗗𝗛𝗶 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝘀𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆
𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘴𝘢, 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 26, 2025, — The CDHi- Center for Digital Health and Implementation Science at the University of Gondar has taken a significant step in supporting the healthcare community by organizing and delivering a Health Information System Mentorship and Supervision Training for selected health institutions in the Assosa zone, along with Assosa University staff.
The training was officially opened by Dr. Abdulmuhsin Hassen, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer at Assosa University. In his speech, Dr. Abdulmuhsin shared the university’s ongoing efforts to serve the community, not just through academic and research work but by partnering with local health bureaus to improve public health. He also highlighted the strong collaboration between Assosa University and the University of Gondar, solidified through MoU, to create lasting positive changes in healthcare.
This training program is designed to enhance the use of HIS in the region’s health institutions. By the end of the training, participants will have a shared understanding of best practices in HIS mentorship and supervision, tools that are essential for improving health data management and providing better care to communities.
The University of Gondar is proud to support this initiative, working hand-in-hand with Assosa University to contribute to the development of the region’s healthcare system and to ensure better healthcare outcomes for the people of the Benishangul-Gumuz.
