Dr. Araya Mesfin Nigatu an assistant professor of health informatics at the University of Gondar.
Dr. Araya received his Bachelor’s degree in InformationTechnology from Mekelle University in 2008. He earned an MPH in Health Informatics (2016) and a PhD in Public HealthInformatics (2024) from the University of Gondar.
Dr. Araya is an active member of the Center for Digital Health and Implementation Science (CDHI) at UoG since 2019, contributing to the design and execution of digital health interventions. In this affiliation, he has participated in different interdisciplinary research projects.
Dr. Araya has published more than 25 articles as a principal and co investigator in international journals. His research interest lies on data utilization, digital health, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and implementation science. Dr. Araya is currently enrolled in TITANS postdoctoral program launched by a tripartite institutions – Emory University, University of Gondar and Addis Ababa University. His postdoctoral research interest focuses on the effect of digital health solutions on NCDs prevention and control.
