Overview
The University of Gondar, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, planned to conduct the Health Policy and System Research (HPSR) priority setting by using a literature review, expert panel workshop, formative online survey, and qualitative interviews. The participants are from health systems (policymakers and program experts), researchers from research and academic institutions, partners, and professional associations—the project aimed to identify Ethiopia’s HPSR needs and conduct the priority-setting exercise using the Delphi technique.

Objective
- Identify the HPSR priority needs and conduct the priority-setting exercise in Ethiopia
- Identify the HPSR needs of Ethiopia using expert opinion, online formative assessment, qualitative interview, and literature review in Ethiopia
- Conducting the health policy and system research (HPSR) priority-setting exercise in Ethiopia
- Explore the practice and barriers of health policy and system research (HPSR) priority-setting exercise in Ethiopia
Key activities
- A literature review on HPSR needs mapping and agenda setting.

Collaborators
The University is collaborating with FMOH, Digital Health Activities (DHA), and the OpenHIE community to implement this project. The university will use its strong and multidisciplinary team of experts at CDHI.
