Our Executive Director, Professor Binyam Tilahun, PhD,MPH,FIAHSI, is participating in The Pan African Health Informatics Association (HELINA) 2025 Conference taking place this week in Gaborone, Botswana. The event has brought together digital health researchers and policymakers from across the continent under the theme: “𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮.”
In his welcome remarks at a pre-conference event co-organized with Africa CDC and 𝗚𝗜𝗭, Professor Binyam emphasized that the true measure of digital health success lies not in the number of systems built, but in the health outcomes achieved, particularly the tangible impact on mothers and children in remote areas of Africa who deserve quality and affordable healthcare.
