The CDHi- Center for Digital Health and Implementation Science at the University of Gondar had the honor of hosting a delegation from the U.S. Embassy on May 09, 2025.
During the visit, we presented our ongoing research initiatives and student exchange programs in collaboration with U.S. universities. We also highlighted our contributions to the CBMP – Capacity Building and Mentorship Program in Ethiopia , emphasizing our joint efforts with the Ministry of Health and partner universities across Ethiopia to promote localization and sustainability in health information systems.
Our Executive Director, Prof. Binyam Tilahun, PhD,MPH,FIAHSI, remarked: “As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of our University and the 100th anniversary of our University Hospital, the U.S. Embassy’s support dating back to our founding and continuing through our current vision of institutional autonomy remains invaluable. Today’s visit is a testament to our enduring partnership.”
This visit reaffirmed the vital role that research centers like CDHi play in advancing the autonomy agenda of Ethiopian higher education institutions. We were deeply honored to welcome the delegation and share the impactful work taking place at our center
