During the Data and Digital Health Week, held from April 28 to May 2, 2025, Tehuledere woreda was recognized as Model HIS woreda. The recognition is as a result of Tehuledere Woreda’s significant improvements in data quality, HIS structure and implementation, and evidence informed decision making.
This acknowledgement is given by the Ministry of Health after a rigorous independent verification process. To achieve Model status, a woreda must score 90% or higher against established criteria for information revolution guideline.
The acknowledgment aligns with this year’s forum theme, 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲, which focuses on improving health service delivery at primary health care units through strengthened data and digital systems.
Tehuledre Woreda is one of the woredas that is supported by University of Gondar CBMP – Capacity Building and Mentorship Program in Ethiopia. The university capacitates the health workforce in the woreda, supports them during evidence generation and translation, and digitzation efforts.
The University of Gondar extends its congratulations to Tehuledere Woreda and other model woredas from various regions that were acknowledged at the forum. Notably, three out of this year’s five model IR woredas were supported through the CBMP.
We remain committed in collaborating with the five CBMP universities (Addis Ababa University, Haramaya University, Hawassa University, Jimma University, and Mekelle University) to increase the number of more model woredas nationwide.
