
𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟𝐟
The Data and Digital Health Week 2025 officially began Yesterday, bringing together key stakeholders from Ethiopia’s health sector to focus on the digital transformation of healthcare delivery. Held under the theme: “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲,” the event aims to highlight the critical role of digital health solutions in strengthening primary health care.
On the first day of the event, leaders from the Ministry of Health, regional health bureaus, university presidents, and partner organizations participated in discussions and exhibitions.
Our CBMP Director Prof. Binyam Tilahun, PhD,MPH,FIAHSI moderated a panel discussion to discuss the lessons and challenges of the HIS and digitization at the PHCUs with panelists from the Ministry of Health, the Gates Foundation, IPHC – Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert Curien – CNRS, and JSI L10K sharing their insights on the topic. In addition, CBMP universities and other stakeholders showcased their ongoing digital health and data use innovations, demonstrating how data-driven solutions are being implemented to improve primary health care units across the country.
The week-long event will continue through Friday, with further discussions, exhibitions, and activities aimed at shaping the future of digital health in Ethiopia. We at CBMP will continue our collaborative efforts on creating innovative solutions using local capacities to drive improvements in primary health care.
