Gondar, March 7, 2025 โ The CDHi- Center for Digital Health and Implementation Science at the University of Gondar successfully held its biannual review meeting for the Capacity Building and Mentorship Program (CBMP), bringing together key healthcare stakeholders from the Amhara Regional Health Bureau, Gondar city and Central Gondar ZHDs to assess and enhance regional health information systems (HIS).

โข The meeting was officially opened by Prof. Binyam Tilahun, PhD,MPH,FIAHSI, CDHi’s founding director, and Vice President for Research and Community Service at the University of Gondar. He highlighted the essential role of data in healthcare transformation and stressed the importance of ongoing capacity-building to enhance the regionโs health information system.
โข Progress & Future Plans: Getasew Amare presented a comprehensive progress report on CBMP, while the Amhara RHB shared insights on health data management improvements.
โข UoG Hospitalโs HIS Focus: One of the key discussions revolved around the University of Gondarโs CS Hospital HIS. Challenges in implementing the system were examined, with special attention given to the progress of the EMR system and the remaining steps toward full implementation. The conversation also centered on enhancing service quality to facilitate smoother transitions and to ensure the long-term success of the EMR system.
