The CDHi at the University of Gondar in partnership with ThinkPlace and Amhara Regional Health Bureau organized a co-creation workshop to discuss and introduce a behavioral prototype focused on improving data quality and utilization. The workshop took place from June 17th to 21st, 2024. It was inaugurated by the head of the Gondar City administration health office and the planning, monitoring, and evaluation director of the Amhara regional health bureau. The workshop commenced on Monday, June 17th, 2024 at Haile Resort, where over 34 participants from the Gondar city administration health department, Maraki, Gondar, and Gabriel health centers gathered and discussed on the previously proposed prototypes by the ideation workshop. Following a thorough discussion on the identified initial prototypes, the rollout began on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 at Maraki Health Center, involving all the facility staff. Initially, the facility staff established a vision related to health information systems, aiming to ‘‘become a center of excellence in generating and utilizing quality data’’.
The rollout strategy and key HIS activities were then explored by service providers, department leads, PMT members, HIT, and facility heads. They also identified key challenges to overcome in order to establish the health center as a role model in health data management. The accountability framework cycle, change challenge, and leaders’ board prototypes were then rolled out at Maraki health center. The final prototypes were officially launched with the signature of facility staff and ZHD officials on the commitment board.
